Acanthis flammea (Common Redpoll)
The common redpoll (Acanthis flammea) is a small, streaky finch with a red patch on the forehead and a black chin. It breeds far in the north and in some winters moves south in large numbers, so it is a rare and irregular visitor here. The photos are from March 2024.
